Zombies.

Sunday, January 29th, 2012

I took Xander to Hastings yesterday which turned in to a long shopping excursion in which he passed out and was a total angel.  I ended up buying Swiss Family Robinson for my nephews (which we watched a little later) and a ‘Zombie Apocalypse’ book which so far as proven to be super creepy but really interesting.  I also recently bought a drawing pad, markers, pastels and have started creating things again.  I made a super awesome ‘Xander’ drawing but the markers were kinda cheap and it shows.  I’ll have to remake it.

All in all, it’s nice now that Xander is big enough he can sleep hard enough so that I can actually do stuff after he goes to bed.  It’s been a year in the making, but we’re finally to that point.

Homeless.

Sunday, January 29th, 2012

Xander took a 4 hour nap today.  Halfway through the nap he wakes up, so I turn on the tv and we’re laying there watching tv.  I look down at him and he had passed back out in a different sleeping position.   I turn the tv off and go back to sleep.  When we wake up, he has the worst case of homeless hair I’ve ever seen.  Everyone had a good laugh about it.  I didn’t get a picture but lets just say it’s worse than Einstein!

Countdown.

There are only a limited amount of weekends before my Half Marathon and I’m starting to get nervous. I also am still having issues with getting time to go put in my weekly runs which affects my distance runs on the weekends.  Everytime I see John out and about, I stop and chit chat so I can get more information.  So far he has told me:

1. Dont take a shower the day of the race — you’ll leave your muscles at home.
2. Night before DON’T carb load. Instead eat a small dinner maybe crackers?
3. Shake your hands periodically for proper blood flow

We talk about a lot of other things like speed training and what not but my ultimate goal IS TO FINISH. I get a medal either way lol. Afterwards, I will probably work on my speed but I need to diet hardcore to really change my pace time. And I guess I will start scoping out my next race. I KNOW I’m not ready for a full marathon yet so maybe another half marathon! I do want to do a 10k just because 6 miles is easy peasy and they are hard to find locally.

Good Weekend.

Had an awesome time drinking with some friends Saturday night while my boyfriend killed it on the stage singing and playing the guitar.  He didn’t even need lyrical help for the Blues Travelers song he did!  OMG!  It was fun night and met so many folks!  Usually I’m shy but I had a little too much tequila and made friends with everyone in that bar!

Sunday night was more relaxed and we all went for dinner in our PJS.  Good times!

Now Monday is here, and I am not ready to face the day.  However, I’ve missed my little snuggle butt all weekend and cannot wait to pick him up this afternoon!

Birthday.

Sunday, January 15th, 2012

Alexander David Byrd officially turned 1 year old this morning.  We brought the day in by cuddling close.  He still has a small fever and not feeling too well.  It didn’t stop him too much from partying yesterday.  I LOVE MY LITTLE MAN!

I came home after work to a very sick baby.  He had a fever and hadn’t left my grandmother’s lap all day, not even to play.  She had called me earlier but I was unable to leave work early due to the boss’s boss coming in for an audit.  When I got home, he immediately wanted me and I couldn’t put him down.  I made a quick trip to walgreens for pedialite and more infant tylenol.  At about 6, he passed out on me and slept until 8:30 when I finally moved him to the bed.  Him sleeping with body to body contact just made his fever worse so when I moved him to the pillow he immediately cooled off.  In the night, that was the only way he would fall back asleep was to rest his head on my chest, and then I would move him back to his spot so he didn’t get too hot.  He woke up a few times but nothing too demanding.  I have taken off work today so I can stay home with him.  He did eat his cereal this morning which is a good sign considering he was so lethargic last night he didn’t want food so we gave him pedilite.  He didn’t even want to get in the floor and play… just be held.

I sure do hate when my baby gets sicks!  Especially the weekend of his first birthday!!

Our facebook relationship statuses have been updated for the world to know lol.  This came after a long caking session last night of inventing nicknames to call eachother.  Good Times.

Work Incident.

Tuesday, January 3rd, 2012

So, today I am cooking hot wings.  I had a few sitting out that were cooked and had some obviously frozen hot wings about to go into the oven.  This guy comes over to my stand, picks up my tongs and proceeds to help himself to the frozen wings.  I tell him to please put down the tongs and that the food is frozen.  Paschal comes over to help and tells the guy again it’s frozen.  He looks right at us, takes a bite of the frozen wing, spits it out and yells ‘ewwww it’s frozen!’ — At this point, Paschal and I just have to turn our heads and try not to laugh.  The man hits up every demo cart and eats everything they have.

As we are trading our stories, it turns out this exact man is well known for stealing cold sausage from the meat and deli section, walking around the store to eat it, and then leaves the wrapper to be found.

I am STILL laughing about him eating the frozen wing.  Geez.  I just am at a loss for words.

10 Miles. You heard me, bitch.

Tuesday, January 3rd, 2012

Sunday I ran 10 miles without stopping.  Of course I had to give myself a pep talk the last 3 miles.  I was listening to ‘On one’ by Drake as my gps watch changed from 9.99 to 10!  As soon as I came to a slow walk down pace, I called my sister mostly to brag but also because I didn’t know if I needed her to come get me or not.  I didn’t know if I was going to pass out, cry, or worse.. die instantly lol!  Then I immediately called my Brumzor for moral support and then got my ass to the nearest Sonic for a celebratory Route 44 Coca Cola!

I’m still pretty proud of myself.  Just another 3.1 miles to go before I can run my half marathon.  I WILL have a 13.1 sticker on my car one day!  IT.WILL.HAPPEN!!
