Worst Day in Awhile.

Without too much personal information, just know I got screwed.
Out of a lot.
Then my evening was spent dealing with more personal family drama.
I even was hugged 3 (maybe 4 times) by my biological father.
Which was followed by an ‘i love you’… from his mouth, only.
Drank a glass of wine in hopes to calm my nerves.
I wish this day would just end.
But sadly, it probably will last until 3 or 4am before my mind shuts off.
I’m just glad I have the most beautiful child in the world.

Snow Day.

Enjoying a nice little snow day inside with my cuddle bug. I opened the door and he was just in complete amazement as the snow fell. I wish he was a little older so I could take him outside and play in it. Right now he would probably run outside and fall down.

Well, I hadn’t checked my email in about a week and of course, I receive a very important email from a job I had applied for. It was a consent form that I needed to fax over to the HR dept before they could offer a job. So I immediately got that taken care of.

I have also applied for a Supervisor position with the company I currently work for. It was brought to my attention I needed to apply for it by a few other Supervisors who would recommend me.

Jogging Stroller.

Well, last night I took Xander to Babies’r'us (along with my sister) to try out every jogging stroller. Xander had so much fun being pushed up and down the aisles, it was so cute. I ended up purchasing one that was both for me AND Xander. The one I really wanted didn’t have a tray and if Xander has toys or a sippy cup, he would be in trouble without a tray. This thing has a built in pedometer and speakers for my music player.

Jennifer and I put it together today (mostly Jennifer though!) and it is so cute. I do need to purchase a tire pump. Along with this purchase I bought a rain guard for it as well as a neck pillow (in the disguise as a frog) to help him pass out if need be. I ended up spending the money but I needed to while I have it. Now I have no excuse not to get out there and run after work, well, at least when it’s a little warmer.

Saturday I had a really fun time. It’s always nice introducing folks to ‘my’ sushi place even though really it’s Brum’s sushi place. I believe KPK called it ‘gangster’ and even though it’s not the best sushi he’s ever had, it was deemed ‘best sushi buffet’ by him which is fine with me. I was assured that nothing stateside could top that of Okinawa but I may never go to Japan so I’ll take his word.

I took Xander to Hastings yesterday which turned in to a long shopping excursion in which he passed out and was a total angel. I ended up buying Swiss Family Robinson for my nephews (which we watched a little later) and a ‘Zombie Apocalypse’ book which so far as proven to be super creepy but really interesting. I also recently bought a drawing pad, markers, pastels and have started creating things again. I made a super awesome ‘Xander’ drawing but the markers were kinda cheap and it shows. I’ll have to remake it.

All in all, it’s nice now that Xander is big enough he can sleep hard enough so that I can actually do stuff after he goes to bed. It’s been a year in the making, but we’re finally to that point.

Xander took a 4 hour nap today. Halfway through the nap he wakes up, so I turn on the tv and we’re laying there watching tv. I look down at him and he had passed back out in a different sleeping position. I turn the tv off and go back to sleep. When we wake up, he has the worst case of homeless hair I’ve ever seen. Everyone had a good laugh about it. I didn’t get a picture but lets just say it’s worse than Einstein!

There are only a limited amount of weekends before my Half Marathon and I’m starting to get nervous. I also am still having issues with getting time to go put in my weekly runs which affects my distance runs on the weekends. Everytime I see John out and about, I stop and chit chat so I can get more information. So far he has told me:

1. Dont take a shower the day of the race — you’ll leave your muscles at home.
2. Night before DON’T carb load. Instead eat a small dinner maybe crackers?
3. Shake your hands periodically for proper blood flow

We talk about a lot of other things like speed training and what not but my ultimate goal IS TO FINISH. I get a medal either way lol. Afterwards, I will probably work on my speed but I need to diet hardcore to really change my pace time. And I guess I will start scoping out my next race. I KNOW I’m not ready for a full marathon yet so maybe another half marathon! I do want to do a 10k just because 6 miles is easy peasy and they are hard to find locally.

Had an awesome time drinking with some friends Saturday night while my boyfriend killed it on the stage singing and playing the guitar. He didn’t even need lyrical help for the Blues Travelers song he did! OMG! It was fun night and met so many folks! Usually I’m shy but I had a little too much tequila and made friends with everyone in that bar!

Sunday night was more relaxed and we all went for dinner in our PJS. Good times!

Now Monday is here, and I am not ready to face the day. However, I’ve missed my little snuggle butt all weekend and cannot wait to pick him up this afternoon!
