Alexander David Byrd officially turned 1 year old this morning. We brought the day in by cuddling close. He still has a small fever and not feeling too well. It didn’t stop him too much from partying yesterday. I LOVE MY LITTLE MAN!

I came home after work to a very sick baby. He had a fever and hadn’t left my grandmother’s lap all day, not even to play. She had called me earlier but I was unable to leave work early due to the boss’s boss coming in for an audit. When I got home, he immediately wanted me and I couldn’t put him down. I made a quick trip to walgreens for pedialite and more infant tylenol. At about 6, he passed out on me and slept until 8:30 when I finally moved him to the bed. Him sleeping with body to body contact just made his fever worse so when I moved him to the pillow he immediately cooled off. In the night, that was the only way he would fall back asleep was to rest his head on my chest, and then I would move him back to his spot so he didn’t get too hot. He woke up a few times but nothing too demanding. I have taken off work today so I can stay home with him. He did eat his cereal this morning which is a good sign considering he was so lethargic last night he didn’t want food so we gave him pedilite. He didn’t even want to get in the floor and play… just be held.
I sure do hate when my baby gets sicks! Especially the weekend of his first birthday!!

Our facebook relationship statuses have been updated for the world to know lol. This came after a long caking session last night of inventing nicknames to call eachother. Good Times.

So, today I am cooking hot wings. I had a few sitting out that were cooked and had some obviously frozen hot wings about to go into the oven. This guy comes over to my stand, picks up my tongs and proceeds to help himself to the frozen wings. I tell him to please put down the tongs and that the food is frozen. Paschal comes over to help and tells the guy again it’s frozen. He looks right at us, takes a bite of the frozen wing, spits it out and yells ‘ewwww it’s frozen!’ — At this point, Paschal and I just have to turn our heads and try not to laugh. The man hits up every demo cart and eats everything they have.
As we are trading our stories, it turns out this exact man is well known for stealing cold sausage from the meat and deli section, walking around the store to eat it, and then leaves the wrapper to be found.
I am STILL laughing about him eating the frozen wing. Geez. I just am at a loss for words.

Sunday I ran 10 miles without stopping. Of course I had to give myself a pep talk the last 3 miles. I was listening to ‘On one’ by Drake as my gps watch changed from 9.99 to 10! As soon as I came to a slow walk down pace, I called my sister mostly to brag but also because I didn’t know if I needed her to come get me or not. I didn’t know if I was going to pass out, cry, or worse.. die instantly lol! Then I immediately called my Brumzor for moral support and then got my ass to the nearest Sonic for a celebratory Route 44 Coca Cola!
I’m still pretty proud of myself. Just another 3.1 miles to go before I can run my half marathon. I WILL have a 13.1 sticker on my car one day! IT.WILL.HAPPEN!!

Well, I believe my sweet Alexander had a wonderful first Christmas. He had everyone who loves him around him. Santa brought him tons of toys as well as what mommy got him. He is now off to his daddy’s house where I’m sure Santa left a few more presents for him.
I received tons of goodies, including a rain jacket from the nike store for running in the rain and some of those toes shoes (and socks!) so that I can start running almost barefoot. Apparently you’ve got to build up slowly to running barefoot but it’s supposed to be a better run than with shoes. My sister already claims i’m an elitist bc I refuse to wear an ipod and I prefer outdoor vs. indoor. Oh well.
I think I might have some Chinese today for dinner/lunch. It’s the only thing open and I’m hungry lol

So, apparently anyone who has an iphone that is older than the iphone 4 CANNOT DOWNLOAD APPS. So of course, the other night when this started happening, I deleted my facebook app thinking it was my app and then soon found out… gasp… I cannot download ANYTHING AT ALL! Waited for a day or so, asked everyone with an iphone about this, and today I finally broke down and googled it. It is all over the apple support forums and it is rumored that apple will no longer be providing support for these older iphones.
GRRRRR! It really sucks when you get used to facebook on demand and then it’s taken away and you actually have to use a computer! Idk how much longer I can keep doing this before I break down and go crazy. Not really. But really.

Got a few people left to buy for including but not limited to: jennifer, mom, popsie, bradley, and possibly my brother. I just get so excited! I love shopping lol. Might be interesting with Alexander but he survived Branson and all we did was shop.
Oh, I also need to get Brum something. Still have NO CLUE what I would get him but maybe I’ll see something today.

JEP is definitely on my mind. And making my smile all day ;D
Can’t explain what it is, and there are too many signs to not be giggly.

Ran the ‘Light up the Night 5k’ Saturday evening in honor of Jennings Osborne. I beat my old time running in at 47:01, which equals out to be like 14:54 pace. It was awesome sprinting towards to finish line and Brum is standing there cheering me on! Made me super happy! Jennifer came in a minute or so behind me. Not too bad for either of us aaaaaaaand we didn’t come close to last place mostly because there were over 800 runners! Pretty intense for a first year race! Hopefully we’ll be back to do it next year! Already working on our outfits! (I’ll post pics later)
